Adelitas Way, whose name comes from an unplanned visit to a Tijuana brothel, is currently on tour with Saliva and will head out with Sick Puppies on August 13th. bassist Johnston and West Virginia guitarist Wallen bring a combination of indie, hardcore and classic rock influences to the band’s distinctive sound. Produced by the Grammy-nominated Johnny K (Disturbed, Plain White T’s, 3 Doors Down), the band’s debut album is filled with hard, edgy modern rock anthems spotlighting the shredding blues style of teenage axe-slinger Iorio and the propulsive, grunge-like drums of Huntington Beach, CA native Stafford, a veteran of Ozzfest band Shuvel. Soon the quintet was opening for artists like Chris Cornell, Hinder and Tantric, generating an impressive industry buzz that resulted in their signing with Virgin. In 2005, he seized an opportunity to move to Las Vegas where he met up with lead guitarist Chris Iorio, guitarist Keith Wallen, drummer Trevor Stafford and bassist Derek Johnston. Adelitas Way is fronted by singer Rick DeJesus, who grew up in a rough Philadelphia neighborhood that was ravaged by drugs and poverty. The video will appear on AOL’s NoiseCreep. The video focuses on everyday people who are faced with life challenging circumstances, while delivering an inspiring message of hope and perseverance. Adelitas Way wanted to create an epic video that would awaken the fight in anyone who is in need.
